Barry Reed McClarty passed away on Saturday November 10th after a sudden illness. He was born in San Diego on September 26, 1948. He had one brother, James Edmonds, and one sister, Patricia Raiche, both deceased.
Barry lived all of his life in California except for when his family lived in the Philippine’s while his father was stationed there with the Navy and he loved the experience being there at the young age of 13.
Barry served his country in the US Army, being stationed in Vietnam during the Tet Offensive. He was honorably discharged in 1968 at the rank of Specialist Fourth Class E4. He stayed active as a Standby Reserve until 1972.
Barry earned an Associate in Science degree in Criminology/Law Enforcement in 1975. He was in law enforcement for 30 years, retiring as a Lieutenant in 2002.
He is survived by his wife, Diane, two sons: David (Kim), Lewis (Tuanh): two daughters: Sheila, Marie (Sean); three grandchildren: Audrey, Kellyn, Konnor; numerous cousins and extended family.
Barry’s devotion to the Lord, love of family and passion for his career were his priorities.
He was deeply loved and will be forever missed
