The Strumsky Family wishes to thank you for all your wonderful thoughts and prayers.
Our dear, sweet, strong-willed, brash, lovely Mom passed on Wednesday, May 2nd at 8:40 p.m. after a final battle with Acute Leukemia, her sixth cancer battle (these words borrowed from a very dear friend) . She was surrounded by her sons and daughters in her home and went quietly in her sleep. However, we will share that Fritzie was Fritzie to the end. The Hospice nurse, who was terrific, called the time at her passing but a second later Fritzie took another few breaths - as if she was saying “I’ll tell you when it is time to call it.” You could never outdo Fritzie in words or actions. If there ever was a person who believed in doing her things her way and standing up for what she believed . . . Fritzie was her name .
Many blessings to the family and friends who Fritzie/Coreen felt close to based on the lovely memories in El Cajon, to the many jokes and insights shared over the years, and to how you all always managed to stay connected with her in one way or another.
As many of her family and friends are scattered through-out the country, no formal Memorial Service is planned. In place of a service, the Family thought that on her Birthday, Friday May 11th, anyone who wished to would join us in a virtual remembrance at exactly 5:40 p.m. Pacific Time. Some have suggested toasting at that time with a creamy milkshake, Mom’s drink of choice. We leave that to your discretion.
In lieu of flowers, we offer a link to several on Mom’s favorite charities on this web site. Mom’s ashes will be scattered across the ocean on June 3rd, her husband’s birthday.
Mom donated regularly to three different charities:
