The lighting of a Memorial Candle not only provides a gesture of sympathy and support to the immediate family during their time of need but also provides the gift of extending the Book of Memories for future generations.
Paul Anthony Valadez Jr., lovingly known as “Nonies” to his family and close friends, was born on November 13, 2001 to Paul and Clover at Kaiser Hospital in San Diego, California,
Paul, Clover, and Paul Jr. lived in Spring Valley with Paul’s Grandpa John and Auntie Jessica. Soon after, they moved to La Mesa as they prepared for his sister Isabella’s arrival.
When Paul was very young, Mom and the kids moved to Rancho San Diego and lived with Auntie Jessica and Uncle Jeff where Paul went to Rancho San Diego Elementary School. From there, he went on to Hillsdale Middle School, and this past fall Paul began high school at Valhalla.
Paul joined the Valhalla freshmen football team and proudly wore number 42 on his jersey. Initially, he played defensive linebacker and was on special teams. Coach Madera, Coach Martin, and Coach Casper soon realized that Paul had speed, and they could utilize him as a running back. Paul scored 5 touchdowns this past season and helped the 2016 Valhalla Freshman Football Team to become League Champions. They crushed school records with a 9 and 1 winning season. Stay tuned for Paul’s football highlight reel created by Coach Bussey and Coach Madera.
Paul was known for his great sense of humor and for being the life of the party. He was compassionate and had a loving heart, especially when it came to his sister Bella. He even loved Bumpy, his auntie’s dog.
During the night on January 20, 2017, Paul had a seizure. Because of complications during the seizure, Paul painlessly and peacefully passed away. He is now with our Lord Jesus Christ, his Grandpa John, and his Uncle John.
Paul is survived by his:
Parents, Clover Ericson and Paul Valadez
Step-dad Dustin McGee
Aunt Jessica and Uncle Jeff
Grandma Regina, Grandpa Jose Luis, Grandma Sue and two great-grandmothers
And numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins
Paul will be cremated at a later date. Some of his organs have been donated to The New York University Seizure and Epilepsy Research Center. This research could impact the lives of many in the future.
We hope you enjoy the video of Paul’s life.
